An Indonesian Citizen Becomes A Victim Of Murder In The US, Ministry Of Foreign Affairs: Victim Stabbed In Kitchen Knives

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) confirmed that the victim in the stabbing incident in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania State, United States (US), was an Indonesian citizen (WNI). "It is true, an Indonesian citizen with the initials RA became a victim of murder with a fellow Indonesian citizen with the initials LFP," said Director of Protection of Indonesian Citizens at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Judha Nugraha in a written statement to the media, Jakarta, Thursday, August 8. Judha said that the incident occurred on August 4, 2024 in Philadelphia. The victim was stabbed with a kitchen knife in the neck and leg. Furthermore, Judha said that the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in New York had coordinated with the Philadelphia Police for the autopsy process of the victim and the legal process against the perpetrators. The Indonesian Consulate General also said, he had communicated with the families of the victims. "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indonesian Consulate General in New York will continue to monitor the development of this case and provide consular assistance," he said.

Earlier, several local media reported a stabbing case of a 55-year-old woman in southern Philadelphia last Sunday. Police stated the unidentified victim was stabbed to death in a house, while one person has been brought by police for questioning in connection with the incident.
