Google Photo Launches Latest Design, Changes 'Custom Tab' With New Name

JAKARTA Google redesigned the view of the Photo application on mobile devices. The design used is similar to the old Google Photo design, but the Library tab in the lower bar is replaced with a new tab. A few years ago, the Photo application had four tabs consisting of Photos, Memories, Library, and Search. However, in 2022, Google turned its tab line into Photos, Search, Sharing, and Library. Through version 6.93, Google will again change the appearance and arrangement of tabs in the Photo application. The company will use designs from a few years ago, but the Library tab will be replaced with Collection tabs. When the update is rolled out widely, Google Photo users may feel familiar when viewing Collection tabs. The reason is, the Collection page has a display, including a folder arrangement, which is almost the same as the Library page.

Users will have quick access to Favorite, Garbage, Screen Footage, and Archives folders as the recommendations at the top. When the page is scrolled slightly down, users will view the People's, Albums, Documents, and Places folders. A possible striking difference is that the carousel display is turned into a folder. Previously, there was a carousel called On the Device. Once updated, the name changed to This Device and will display a grid of all local albums. The latest design of Google Photo is being launched in stages so that some users may not see its latest look yet. This update is not only visible on Android devices, but also on iOS.
