Mass Production Of IPhone 16 Begins, Ready To Release Mid-September
JAKARTA - Mass production of the iPhone 16 has begun, and is expected to be available on time in mid-September 2024. According to a recent report from the supply chain, early production began in June, with production in India starting in July. Since then, production has increased significantly, indicating good availability for future launches.
Apple is expected to produce 90 million iPhone 16 units in a variety of models, while the total number of OLED panels to be produced by 2024 is estimated at 120 million units.
Samsung Display is expected to produce 80 million OLED panels, while LG Display will produce 43 million units, an increase of more than 10 million compared to production for the iPhone 15.

The report also states that these figures may change because the third supplier, BOE, is experiencing delays in obtaining approval for the iPhone 16 screen panel. In 2023, LG Display experienced a similar delay, which caused Apple to increase orders from Samsung.
Previously, it has been reported that the screen for the iPhone 16 Pro series would be larger than the iPhone 15 series. iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 6.9-inch display, larger than 6.7-inch on the previous model, while the iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch display, an increase from 6.1-inch in the previous series. For the non-Pro model, the screen size will remain the same as the iPhone 15, which is 6.1-inch for the iPhone 16 and 6.7-inch for the iPhone 16 Plus.
