Director of Big Data Development Indef Eko Listiyanto explained that people in the social media world agree that illegal imported products can kill local businesses or products, especially textile products.

"Of course this is a good hope, that it turns out that 99.28 percent of netizens agree that illegal imported products must be eradicated," he said in a virtual discussion, Thursday, August 8.

Even so, continued Eko, there are still 64.09 percent of the public who doubt that the formation of an Illegal Import Task Force can effectively overcome illegal imports. Because, reflecting on the formation of previous task forces whenever there are problems, but it does not have a significant effect.

The 64 percent dominant feels that this reflects on the formation of previous task forces, yes, there are too many task forces, I think there are more than 10 problems with us, then there is a task force. Now it seems that the previous task force was not quite effective," he said.

In addition, continued Eko, netizens also highlighted the raid on illegal warehouses carried out by the task force. Because the raids were only carried out downstream which was raided, where the upstream side should be the first target.

Eko emphasized that 35.91 percent of netizens responded positively to the formation of the Illegal Import Task Force. They hope that this task force is able to carry out its duties to protect local industries from being hit by illegal imported goods.

"So don't be bad at being discouraged, because some 40 percent still believe (to the Illegal Import Task Force)," he said.

In addition to supporting the eradication of illegal imported products, continued Eko, netizens also encourage local industry players to clean up and improve their quality.

"So here they (netizens) also hope that the quality of our domestic products must also be maintained and improved," said Eko.
