WIR Group Receives Visit From Timor-Leste Minister Of Trade And Industry

JAKARTA - WIR Group (PT WIR ASIA Tbk), an immersive technology and web3 company focused on Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and blockchain in Southeast Asia received a visit from the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, His Majesty Nino Pereira.

This visit, which took place on Friday, August 2, 2024, marks an important step in strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Timor-Leste, especially in the technology and digital trade sector.

During this visit, YM Nino Pereira was accompanied by a delegation from the Ministry of Trade and Industry Timor-Leste and several industry players. The group was received directly by WIR Group President Director Stephen Budiman and his staff. This visit was filled with constructive discussions on various initiatives and collaboration opportunities in the application of innovative digital technology that could increase efficiency and productivity in the trade and industrial sectors.

During the visit, YM. Nino Pereira and his entourage were also introduced with various technological innovations that have been developed by WIR Group. They had the opportunity to see direct demonstrations of AR and VR applications that have been used by leading clients to increase interaction with customers and operational efficiency. In addition, discussions also include the potential implementation of AI and blockchain technology in supporting the digitization of business processes in Timor-Leste.

YM. Nino Pereira expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and a comprehensive presentation.

"We see a lot of potential cooperation that can be developed to support digital transformation in Timor-Leste, especially in the trade and industrial sectors. We hope this visit will be the beginning of closer cooperation between the two countries," he said, in a written statement, quoted Thursday, August 8.
