Herbal Medicine Warung Hides Alcohol In The Ground Closed By Garut Satpol PP
The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Garut Regency, West Java, closed a herbal medicine shop because it was known to sell liquor. The owner also deliberately kept alcoholic beverages underground to trick the officers during a raid."It has been closed," said Garut Regency Satpol PP Head Usep Basuki Eko when contacted in Garut, Antara, Thursday, August 8.The herbal stall was previously caught in a community disease operation on Jalan Pembangunan, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut, last Saturday night. Many liquor is stored underground in the shop.Alcohol sellers have violated local regulations that regulate the prohibition of the circulation of alcoholic beverages in Garut Regency. As a sanction, the stall is closed with the Satpol PP line installed.He said that the Garut Satpol PP had previously warned that the shop would be sealed, and asked the seller to remove flammable or rotten goods before they were closed."We carry out this sealing activity in accordance with our SOP," he said.Based on the regulation, the shop is only closed or sealed until the legal process for minor criminal acts in the case of selling liquor is complete, or it may be opened if for other business activities.However, if the place of sale stands in a prohibited place or state-owned land, he said, the decision is not sealed but immediately dismantled without a warning letter first."We and the owner have already conveyed the chronology, how and later the owner can immediately break this seal if it will be used for other activities, not to sell alcohol," he said.
Previously, Garut Satpol PP officers raided herbal medicine stalls that were reported by the public often selling liquor, the results turned out to be true that bottles of liquor were found stored underground.
