The Presidential Secretariat Sends Invitations To The Republic Of Indonesia's Anniversary To Former Presidents, Including Megawati To The Community

The Presidential Secretariat (Setpres) has begun distributing invitations to former presidents and former vice presidents to community leaders to attend the agenda of the RI's 79th Anniversary Ceremony on August 17, 2024.

"Today, for the former, both the former president and former vice president, an invitation will be sent immediately. We also ask for confirmation of his presence," said Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana at the Jakarta Presidential Palace complex, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 8.

Yusuf said the invitation for former heads of state in Indonesia needed to be confirmed immediately so that the Presidential Secretariat could manage their arrival plans as well as possible.

Yusuf said the invitation was also conveyed to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as the host and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, who represented the legislature.

"So, we share the invitation, invitations at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta as well as invitations at the State Palace of IKN," he said.

Yusuf said the invitation to the State Palace of IKN was conveyed to the leaders of chairmen and deputy state institutions, cabinet ministers, the TNI Commander, the National Police Chief, the chief of staff of the force, to religious leaders, community leaders, traditional leaders, and cultural figures.

Meanwhile, presidential candidates elected in the 2024 General Election Prabowo Subianto were also invited to accompany President Jokowi during the Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony at IKN.

"In IKN, we have prepared around 1,400 seats in it, but also in front of it, of course, we anticipate that the community and workers who work to build IKN will also be presented," he said.

Meanwhile, those invited to the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, among others, were Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and elected vice presidential candidates in the 2024 General Election, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, along with former vice presidents.

"Including the ministers, they will also be present at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta and other general public communities, including religious leaders, community leaders in Jakarta, we will also invite them. The ambassadors will be invited to the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta," he said.
