Army Chief Of Staff Review Free Treatment At RSKI Galang

JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak reviewed the free medical activities held by the TNI and Polri at the Galang Special Infection Hospital (RSKI), Batam City, Riau Islands.

In addition to reviewing free treatment, the Army Chief of Staff also handed over social assistance in the form of 500 packages of basic necessities to residents of Galang Sub-district.

"I am very happy to be able to meet the people of Cijantung Village, Galang," Maruli said greeting the community as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 8.

The visit to Galang, Batam is a series of working visits by the Army Chief of Staff to a number of areas in Sumatra, starting from Padang, West Sumatra.

Maruli appreciated the government project that was running in Galang, Batam, thanks to community support.

"We are very grateful about it, hopefully later we can create programs that can be even better," he said.

Galang Community Leader Said Adnan Alatas welcomed the social service and health services carried out by the Army Chief of Staff.

Because, he said, the local community really needed this assistance, considering that the location of Galang District on the islands was far from the center of Batam City.

"In the past there was only one school here, namely elementary school, now it has reached the high school level. Indeed, health services and assistance like this are really needed by the community," said Said on behalf of the residents.

Meanwhile, Riau Islands Governor Ansar Ahmad said that social and health service activities need to be promoted in Galaing District.

Social services and health services that are held by the Indonesian Army assist local governments in providing health services and social assistance to the community.

"Of course we appreciate this activity, there are health facilities in Galang that can help the community in getting treatment," said Ansar.

Around 100 more people take free treatment. General health check services, and blood sugar checks, high blood pressure and cholesterol.

According to medical officers, most Galang residents who check their health have problems with cholesterol.

Meanwhile, RSKI Galang, Riau Islands, known to the people of Corona Hospital, has begun to be converted into a hospital for infectious diseases and research places.

Health facilities at RSKI Galang in addition to treating COVID-19 patients, are also used to serve the health of the surrounding community for free.
