Japanese Yamaha Low Carbon Recycle Baja Application For Motorcycle Delivery Packaging
JAKARTA - Various automotive manufacturers, both four-wheeled and two-wheeled, continue to innovate to use environmentally friendly or recycled materials, including those carried out by Japanese Yamaha.
Citing from the Rideapart page, Thursday, August 8, Yamaha announced that it will start using a low-carbon recycled steel sheet, which is produced for packaged raw materials to deliver motorcycles.
Based on Yamaha's research as of July 2024, this low-carbon shipping packaging is the first time in Japan, and Yamaha is committed to gradually expanding the coverage of the material.
The steel sheet is recycled material produced from melted scrap metal, then formed sheets and the material is claimed to produce less CO2 during its production.

This steel is made mainly from scrap metal obtained from demolished buildings, discarded household appliances, used cars, and the like, and the characteristics of the material, the quality, and suitability for use in the context of packaging have been tested and proven through collaborative efforts between Tokyo Steel and Yamaha Motor.
"Yamaha Motor, in line with the 2050 Yamaha Motor Group Environmental Plan, is trying to achieve carbon neutral across its entire supply chain, including the company's business activities by 2050," the company's official statement read.
Along with the Company's efforts to achieve this goal and ultimately turning to 100 percent of environmentally friendly materials, Yamaha Motor encourages adopting and further expanding the use of environmentally friendly and recycled materials.
Later, starting in October 2024, Yamaha Motor will start using recycled steel sheets from Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Steel) for motorcycle shipment packaging, with plans to gradually expand its use coverage in the future, thereby increasing the ratio of recycled materials used in the framework of its packaging.
