Anies Is Sure That He Will Still Be Promoted In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election Even Though PKS Opens Opportunities To Join KIM Plus

JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan said he was optimistic that the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) would continue to carry him in the Jakarta gubernatorial election even though the party bearing the rice and sickle symbol began to open up opportunities to move.

PKS is rumored to be discussing options to join the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Plus and support Ridwan Kamil as a candidate for governor of the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

"I believe and until now it is still the same that all will work together to later win the Jakarta Pilkada," said Anies at the NasDem Party State Defense Academy, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 8.

The former governor of DKI views that there are still many people in Jakarta who will support the ideas he brought to run for the Jakarta Pilkada. Anies believes that his supporting party is also arrested by his current party.

"We believe that the aspirations of the people of Jakarta will continue to be maintained. Because all parties get seats, the aspirations of the people and aspirations of the people of Jakarta so far, if we pay attention, the DPW-DPW parties in Jakarta have proposed names. Now, these names are a reflection of the aspirations of the citizens, "explained Anies.

Previously, PKS Spokesperson M. Kholid said that his party had instructed Anies to attract other political parties to form a coalition by carrying out PKS-choice governors, namely Anies in pairs with the Deputy Chairperson of the PKS Syuro Council Sohibul Iman.

"Mas Anies has been given a red carpet by obtaining 18 PKS seats. Even PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu came down the mountain looking for coalition partners for Mas Anies so that he could meet the shortage of the seat. And we continue to pray that all efforts will be made easier," explained Kholid.

However, the deadline for Anies to seek additional support is 40 days, namely since June 25 the declaration of the Anies-Sohibul pair. Because the August 4 deadline has been passed, PKS has begun to open communication with all parties so that there is certainty that PKS can participate in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada, including KIM Plus.

"One of the communication options is to also build political communication with KIM where RK is their definitive candidate at this time. This option is being studied and discussed by the PKS DPP," explained Kholid.
