BMKG Remembers The Potential For Strong Winds To Trigger Forest And Land Fires In NTT
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reminded the people of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) against the potential for strong winds to cause forest and land fires (Karhutla) until August 12, 2024.
"Be aware of the bad effects of strong winds, it is predicted that until August 12, 2024," said Head of the El Tari Kupang Meteorological Station, Sti Nenotek, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 8.
He said the cause of strong winds in the NTT region was due to a significant difference in the difference in pressure between Australia and NTT.

With this information, BMKG reminded residents to be aware of the impacts caused by strong winds.
Sti advised the public to be aware of incidents of forest and land fires (karhutla). During strong winds, he reminded residents not to burn dry leaves or garbage.
The reason is, strong winds can cause fires to spread.
