Mazda Will Change Logo Globally, This Is EMI's Response

JAKARTA - In recent times, Mazda is rumored to be making changes to his logo in order to adapt to the modern era. This is evidenced by the manufacturer proposing a trademark in Japan.

Despite the change, the Hiroshima-based manufacturer, Japan still maintains the outline of the logo design that has been used since 1997 with the letter M down in the middle of the circular emblem, according to an order from Motor1.

However, it is still unclear whether the logo will be applied to Mazda models in several markets, including for Indonesia in the future.

Responding to this, Chief Operating Officer of PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI) Ricky Thio, confirmed the news that Mazda would soon replace the logo globally.

"That's right, Mazda is globally planning to change the new logo and it looks different," Ricky told the media in Simprug, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 6.

He also ensured that the new logo of this premium brand was not much different from before by continuing to leave the hallmark of Mazda.

"But Mazda's 'M' flying is still maintained. I believe that Mazda is trying to adapt to the present, but has never left the Kodo design," added Ricky.

Unfortunately, he could not confirm when the logo would be applied to Mazda's model in Indonesia. However, he will soon explain what was changed and tell the meaning behind the logo.

We also have plans to go to Japan because there is a meeting to discuss this. If everyone is ready, I hope to explain the meaning of the logo to fellow journalists and the public," explained Ricky.

The logo was first applied to one of its concept cars, namely Arata, which was introduced at the Beijing Auto Show 2024 some time ago. This SUV-shaped car is the result of collaboration with Changan Automobile in the bamboo curtain country.

It is reported that Mazda Arata will be mass produced as an electric vehicle (EV) in China by the end of 2025.

The car's side design features thick doors and three-dimensional configurations that provide traction on all four tires, creating a powerful and dynamic shape, following a typical Kodo design. The back-combination light with the 'cross wing' design is also Mazda's new hallmark.
