Data Manipulation For Subsidized Fuel, 1,967 Vehicles Blocked By Pertamina Papua-Maluku

MALUKU - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Papua Maluku blocked 1,967 police numbers of vehicles indicated to have abused the use of subsidized Biosolar fuel (BBM)."We have blocked 1,967 police numbers of Biosolar consumer vehicles that were detected as cheating," said Area Manager Comm, Rel & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Papua Maluku Regional Edi Mangun in a statement received in Ambon, Maluku, Antara, Wednesday, August 7.The blocking was carried out because there was a discrepancy in the data on the vehicle's police number with data in the Police Traffic Corps."The majority of Biosolar consumer police numbers are blocked due to acts of manipulation and misuse of data, including misuse of QR codes and modification of vehicles," he said.In addition, when registering, many users are indicated to fake their identities by editing the documents and photos they want to upload."The misuse of data includes information related to the findings of external audits, such as data discrepancies," he said.Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Papua Maluku appreciates law enforcement officers who consistently disclose and take firm action against fraud and abuse of subsidized fuel."We appreciate the TNI and Polri who have helped uncover cases after cases of misappropriation of subsidized fuel. Hopefully, we can take action together to other areas that the public complains about," he said.He stated that his party also continues to synergize with the TNI and Polri to oversee the process of distributing subsidized fuel in the Maluku Papua region. The modus operandi that is often found is that fuel is stockpiled to be resold at prices above the price set by the government."Pertamina cannot act alone in eradicating this, so synergy is needed with the Police and the TNI in an effort to take action," said Edi.He emphasized that his party together with law enforcement officials are increasingly tightening procedures and inviting the public to participate in supervising the distribution of subsidized fuel.
"The billboards have been tightened, we also invite the public to jointly oversee the distribution of subsidized fuel. If people find indications of fraud, they can immediately report to contact number 135," he said.
