2024 Olympics: Indonesia's First Golden Opportunities Today
JAKARTA Indonesia has the opportunity to get its first gold medal today, Wednesday, August 7, 2024, through weightlifting and rock climbing (sports).
There are three athletes scheduled to appear today. The three are Rajiah Sallsabillah, Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, and Eko Yuli Irawan.
The first two names will go down on the women's speed number rock climbing sport, while the last names will compete in the men's weightlifting number 61 kilograms.
Rajiah and Desak will appear in the quarter-finals at Le Bourget. The women's speed race will start at 12:39 p.m. French time or 17.39 p.m.

The two athletes will also face tough opponents. Rajiah will fight United States athlete, Emma Hunt, while Desak will face Chinese athlete Deng Lijuan.
The women's Speed held three rounds at once today. In addition to the quarter-finals, the semifinals and medals were also held immediately.
If they both pass the quarter-finals, Rajiah and Desak will face off in the semifinals. That means, Indonesia automatically has one representative in the race for a gold medal.
Lifter Eko Yuli will be scheduled to compete at 20.00 WIB. He will fight 11 athletes from other countries in the 61 kilograms number.
