Hotels On The Bank Of The Moselle River Germany Collapsed: 1 Died, 8 Trapped People Have Not Been Evacuated

JAKARTA - One person was killed and eight others trapped after part of the hotel collapsed near the banks of the Moselle river in Germany last night.According to local police, several of those trapped suffered severe injuries. The bodies who died were known but could not be evacuated.Police can already communicate with some of those trapped. "Because of the nature of the damage, this is a very urgent operation," police said.Buildings in the city of Kroev can only be entered by emergency response officers very carefully.Images shared by local broadcaster SWR showed the building's saddle roof tilted back and part of the ground floor was destroyed.Investigators believe 14 people were inside the building when the upper floor collapsed at around 11 pm (21.00 GMT) on Tuesday. Five of them can escape unharmed.Police said 31 neighbors had also been evacuated from their homes in damaged buildings for safety reasons.
The Moselle area attracts tourists because of the beautiful cities and gardens on the edge of the river.
