After Burning And Killing New Zealand Pilot In Mimika, OPM Perpetrators Escape To Nduga

TIMIKA - Commander of the Joint Operations Command for the Defense Region (Pangkogabwilhan) III Lt. Gen. Richard TH Tampubolon in Timika Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province said, based on intelligence and initial analysis data it was known that the Free Papua Organization (OPM) that killed the Glen Malcolm Conning pilot fled towards Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains Province.

Pangkogabwilhan III Lt. Gen. Richard TH Tampubolon said that after intimidating and killing PK IWN helicopter pilot owned by PT Intan Angkasa Air Service Glen Malcolm Conning, the OPM group fled to the East of Alama District, leading to Nduga.

"They (OPM) fled to the East, if we look at the map and study of the case, this may be the OPM group from Nduga," said Richard, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 7.

According to Richard, as a follow-up to the case, the Task Force (Satgas) from the TNI and Polri will go to Alama District to conduct a crime scene (TKP).

"So far, OPM has tried to provoke and intimidate the public and ordered them to evacuate because there was a military operation, that is not true, there is no military operation," he said.

He explained that the TNI and Polri were here to support and maintain the community so that the process of accelerating development in the Land of Papua could run safely and smoothly for the welfare of the local community.

"There is no military operation and this is OPM propaganda, we condemn and regret the brutal actions of the OPM, all security forces, both the TNI and Polri, are coordinated, measurable and firm against the OPM," he said again.

He added that the teachers and health workers who served in Alama District, Mimika Regency were traumatized by the incident experienced by the late pilot Glen Malcolm Conning and the passengers.

"Teachers and health workers in Alama District run national programs in the field of education and health (stunting) due to trauma, they leave Alama," he said again.
