Called By PBNU, Former Chairman Of The PKB Faction Gus Choi: I Will Answer All Questions

JAKARTA - NasDem Party politician, Effendi Choirie or Gus Choi will fulfill the summons of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) to provide information regarding the relationship between PBNU and PKB. Gus Choi emphasized that as the former chairman of the PKB faction of the DPR RI, he would answer all questions from PBNU.

"As a NU cadre, I must respect the PBNU invitation, which signed the Deputy General of PBNU, Rais Aam and the Head of PBNU, not an invitation from PBNU individuals but PBNU institutions. Therefore, I must be present to respect and take a tax on PBNU," Gus Choi told reporters, Wednesday, August 7.

"Moreover (I am) an NU cadre who was once the chairman of the PKB faction, a party that was founded by NU and was once the chairman of the Extraordinary PKB Congress. God willing, I will answer all the questions from PBNU that I experienced and I know," he continued. After that, Gus Choi said his statement would be the right of PBNU. "Furthermore, it is entirely the right of PBNU," he said. Previously, the special committee (pansus) formed by the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) invited former PKB politician Effendy Choirie or Gus Choi to continue the deepening of the disharmony problem between PBNU and PKB.

Gus Choi's summons, who is now the chairman of the NasDem Party's DPP, took place on Wednesday, August 6 today at 13.00 WIB. Through Gus Choi's statement, PBNU will explore the history of the conflict between Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) and the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur several years ago.

"We have sent today's invitation to him (Gus Choi). Hopefully he will be willing to attend so that he can provide additional data to us," said PBNU Deputy Secretary General Faisal Sahimima in his statement, Tuesday, August 6.

According to PBNU, Gus Choi knew in detail the dynamics of the internal PKB conflict by the Cak Imin camp and Gus Dur's camp. In order to gain power from the PKB, Cak Imin was considered to have carried out a coup against Gus Dur. On the other hand, Cak Imin also felt that he was being coupted by Gus Dur's camp.
