Good Preparation, Eko Yuli Irawan Ready To Present The Fifth Medal At The Olympics

JAKARTA - The Indonesian lifter team has entered the 2024 Paris Olympic Athlete Village on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Previously, they had held a training camp in Montpellier, France, for two weeks.

One of Indonesia's mainstay lifters, Eko Yuli Irawan, admitted that all the preparations made by the weightlifting team were going well.

Looking at the preparations, Eko hopes to perform optimally in the match later and present the fifth medal for Indonesia at the Olympics.

"Bismillah, hopefully the D day can be better and perform more optimally," said Eko.

The Indonesian weightlifting team consists of three people. Apart from Eko (61 kg), there are Rizki Juniansyah (73 kg) and Nurul Akmal (+81 kg of women).

On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, the Red-White lifters are scheduled to try out the match venue.

"We have been in the Athlete Village since Sunday. Today we plan to try out the match venue," said Eko again.

Meanwhile, from the row of Indonesian lifters who took part in the 2024 Paris Olympics, Eko Yuli was the most senior athlete.

Paris 2024 is the fifth Olympics. Of the four appearances at the Olympics, Eko always presents medals for Indonesia.

At his inaugural appearance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Eko brought home a bronze medal. In the 2012 London edition, he also got bronze. Then, two silver medals were presented from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro and 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Eko Yuli Irawan will appear on August 7, 2024 local time. Meanwhile, Rizki started competing on August 9, 2024 and finally the Nurul match was held on August 10, 2024, Paris time.
