Cabinet Session At IKN Will Discuss Government Transition

JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno said that the plenary cabinet meeting chaired by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) together with ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet in the capital city of the archipelago, would discuss, among other things, the transition of government.

"The plenary cabinet session will usually discuss more general matters, as is the usual plenary cabinet meeting," said Pratikno when met at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 6.

Pratikno explained that all ministers would be invited to attend the plenary cabinet session which will take place at the Presidential Palace at IKN on Monday, August 12, 2024.

He explained that the discussion in the trial would include the evaluation of the government this year, especially in the last year of the term of office of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.

In addition, this session will also discuss planning for next year, including the transition of government to the elected president Prabowo Subianto and elected vice president Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"Moreover, now we are in the final days of President Jokowi's administration and there will be a transition to the government of Mr. President Prabowo," said Pratikno.

Previously, Acting Head of the IKN Authority as well as Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said that the Garuda Palace and the State Palace would be prepared for a cabinet meeting chaired by President Joko Widodo in the capital city of Nusantara, East Kalimantan.

Although he did not provide further details, Basuki said that the two palaces would be prepared for the event.

"I don't know for sure whether it will be held at the State Palace or the Garuda Palace. We will prepare both of them," said Basuki when met at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday (5/8/2024).

Basuki also explained that at the State Palace, OIKN will prepare four rooms or halls to accommodate all cabinet ministers.
