Bribe Edhy Prabowo Asks For Justice, KPK: Please Convey The Facts

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the former Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Edhy Prabowo, Suharjito to convey the facts he knows about the bribery case of fries or lobster seeds.

This affirmation was conveyed by the KPK in response to the statement of the suspected briber, Edhy Prabowo, who asked that other exporters with permits be investigated.

"Please convey the facts that he knows in front of the trial, both when giving testimony as a defendant and later as a witness for the suspect EP (Edhy Prabowo) and friends," said Acting KPK spokesman for the field of prosecution Ali Fikri in his written statement, Wednesday, March 24.

If Suharjito conveyed known facts, of course the KPK would immediately follow up by asking for witness testimony or even checking evidence.

This procedure was carried out by the KPK because the legal process in determining the status of a suspect must be in accordance with strong evidence.

"We need to convey that the KPK in determining a person as a suspect is not due to pressure or requests from certain parties. The KPK is not selective. We obey the applicable legal rules," he said.

"As a law enforcer, the KPK must work on the basis of the applicable law. Thus, in determining someone as a suspect, of course the basis is that there is sufficient evidence," Ali added.

As previously reported, Suharjito asked the KPK to be fair. He asked other fry exporters to also be prosecuted in the case of bribery for the export license of fry that ensnared former Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo.

"Yes, I guess I was at fault for myself? That's the logic," Suharjito told reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

He explained that his company is in the fourth batch of 35 in the lobster seed export license. According to this entrepreneur, in the fourth batch there were 65 other fry exporters besides himself.

Suharjito asked other exporters to also take action. Moreover, he felt cheated by Edhy Prabowo and his men because it caused him to be jailed and his company rocking.

"I have a lot of responsibility, the employees I bear with this COVID-19 condition," he said.

Moreover, he has no intention of giving a fee to Edhy Prabowo. Suharjito said he did not know if the money requested was a corruption act.

"If it's not asked for a commitment fee, I won't be like this," he said.

As previously reported, in the case of the export bribery of shrimp fry or lobster seeds, Edhy Prabowo was named a suspect in receiving bribes along with five other people, namely: Stafsus Minister of KKP Safri (SAF) and Andreau Pribadi Misanta (APM); Management of PT Aero Citra Kargo (PT ACK) Siswadi (SWD); The staff of the wife of the Minister of KKP, Ainul Faqih, and Amiril Mukminin (AM).
