Djuanda Flyover Construction In Sidoarjo Rampung, Cost Telan Rp363.29 Billion

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has completed the construction of the Djuanda Flyover located in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java.

The construction of the Djuanda Flyover itself is under the responsibility of the East Java-BBPJN National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) of Bali, Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR since the contract on November 1, 2022 with the implementing contact of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero)-PT Nindya Karya (Persero) KSO.

"The cost of construction uses SBSN funds for 2022-2024 (MYC) worth IDR 363.29 billion for the construction of an 858 meter (m) long flyover," said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono in a written statement, Tuesday, August 6.

In construction, the 858 m Juanda Flyover has two flyover structures, namely flyover A which connects from Sidoarjo to Juanda Airport Access Road along 435 m and flyover B which connects Juanda Airport Access to Surabaya along 423 m.

To support the safety of motorists, the Djuanda Flyover also features lighting planted in the parapet structure highlighting the road per distance of 3 m along the flyover structure.

Meanwhile, in the optimite area and frontage, PJU poles are installed using solar cell resources.

The flyover building organization will also pay attention to the aspects of beautification by prioritizing local arts and culture and equipped with a landscape.

Basuki said, Flyover Djuanda will provide accessibility services to Juanda International Airport.

With the completion of the flyover construction, it can reduce congestion that often occurs at the place where the place is located, precisely between the meeting of the Surabaya-Sidoarjo National Road and the Juanda Airport Access Road.

"In addition, the construction of a flyover can also reduce the risk of accidents at railroad crossings majoring in Surabaya-Malang," he added.

The naming of the Follow-up Flyover became Djuanda as an effort to honor the services of the National Hero Djuanda Kartawidjaja who initiated the Djuanda Declaration in 1957 and the initiator of the construction of an international airport in East Java.
