Pertamina Has Carbon Storage Potential In Indonesia Capai 7 Giga Tons Per Year JAKARTA - SVP Technology Innovation PT Pertamina, Oki Muraza revealed that in groups, his party has the potential to store carbon emissions (CO2) from Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology which reaches 7 gigatons.
"Pertamina has several pilot project utilization (CCUS) in Sukowati and Jatibarang Fields. There are quite a lot of storage. In Pertamina Group storage, the capacity is around 7 GT per year," said Oki in Energy Corner, Tuesday, August 6.
He detailed that Pertamina's carbon storage potential extends from Central Sumatra Basin, South Sumatra Basin, Sunda Asri, East Kalimantan to Sulawesi.
Iki said, currently Pertamina continues to map other potentials from the storage capacity of the carbon.
On the other hand, not only developing CCS and CCUS technology, Pertamina, he said, also continues to advocate to the government as stakeholders.

"We catch up from technology first, then capture, how the CO2 capture technology continues to develop. Cost structure for capturing is the biggest. For current storage, we have mapped and simulated it in many fields," explained Oki.
Not working alone, Oki also said that Pertamina is actively cooperating with other parties for the development of carbon storage. It is related, this technology requires large capital, so it requires many partners.
"We cooperate with many partners from countries close to Indonesia starting from Japan, Korea and Singapore," concluded Oki.
