KPK Investigate PAW Bribery Mode Like Harun Masiku Through Former PDIP Candidate Alexius Akim
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the mode of giving bribes for the interim replacement process (PAW) like what Harun Masiku did also occurred in other electoral districts. This allegation was investigated by the former PDIP 2019 candidate for the West Kalimantan electoral district, Alexius Akim (AM).
"The examination was carried out at the Red and White KPK Building on behalf of AM, who is a candidate for the 2019 DPR RI for the West Kalimantan electoral district as well as the former Head of the West Kalimantan Dikbud Office," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika in a written statement to reporters Tuesday, August 6.
Tessa said this allegation occurred in the same period as the bribe given by Harun Masiku to former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan, namely during the 2019 Legislative Election. At that time, the fugitive was known to want to replace the PDIP candidate for the South Sumatra electoral district I named Nazarudin Kiemas who died.
In fact, at that time the KPU said that the vote transition against Harun could not be done because he did not meet the requirements. "Investigators explore a mode that is similar to my masiku and occurs in the West Kalimantan electoral district in the same tempus," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.
Not only that, but Tessa said there were other things to be investigated in the examination on Monday, August 5. "Investigators are also exploring the existence of HM," he said.
Meanwhile, after being questioned, Alexius did not want to talk much about what investigators were investigating. He admitted that he was only asked about his candidacy in the 2019 Legislative Election.
At that time, Alexius ran as a candidate from the PDIP before moving to the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). "What is clear is that I should have been inaugurated but I was dismissed," he said after undergoing the examination.

Even so, Alexius admitted that he did not know Harun Masiku. "I never (meeted, ed)," he said.
"And I don't know (and Harun Masiku, ed)," continued Alexius.
As previously reported, Harun Masiku has now been a fugitive for four years or since 2020. This escape was carried out after being named a suspect in the bribery of former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to serve as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives through the interim replacement mechanism (PAW).
