Densus 88: East Java Stone Terrorist HOK Was Assembled With Bombs In His Room
JAKARTA - Densus 88 anti-terror said HOK (19) had tried to assemble a bomb in his room. This fact is known based on the results of the examination of his parents.
"The person concerned (the suspect HOK) once tried (to cause a bomb) in his house, inside his house triggered or set fire, then an explosion occurred," said Densus 88 Anti-terror Spokesperson Kombes Aswin Siregar to reporters, Monday, August 5.
However, to cover up his actions, the suspect HOK's parents admitted that they only played firecrackers.
At that time, his parents from HOK could be deceived. But, still be suspicious.
"This was asked by his family, 'what is it?', he said that he was playing firecrackers in the room. It was like that at that time," he said.
HOK is a sympathizer of Daulah Islamiyah who is affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
In addition, the young man is said to have started to be exposed to Daulah Islamiyah propaganda through social media since the end of 2023.
"In that period in April, starting in May, the suspect began to purchase goods, purchase materials to prepare the manufacture of explosives according to the tutorial he did," said Aswin.

In this case, HOK is suspected of under Article 15 in conjunction with Article 7 and/or Article 9 of Law Number 5 of 2018 concerning Amendments to Law Number 15 of 2003 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2002 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism into Laws.
