PANDEGLANG - A resident of Juhut Noval Village, Juhut Village, Karangtanjung District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, was shocked by the suicide of a female student named Harsulis Nur Rochmah (18) in a rented house.

The victim's body was first found by the rented owner on Friday morning at 08.00 WIB, hanging by a rope at the kitchen door.

The Pandeglang Police Inafis Team immediately arrived at the location to conduct a crime scene investigation to determine the cause of death of the victim. Several school friends of the victim seemed to cry after learning that the victim had died by suicide.

Kaur Identification of the Pandeglang Police Satreskrim, Bripka Bayu Kurniawan, revealed that the victim was estimated to have died 12 to 18 hours before being found. From the crime scene, several pieces of evidence and bruises were found on several legs.

"We received information about the alleged hanging of himself in the Juhut area and immediately checked the crime scene. The victim has been removed from the hanger. We cannot confirm whether this is really a case of hanging himself because he was not accompanied by a health team," said Bripka Bayu Kurniawan, Sunday, August 4.

From the crime scene, the Pandeglang Police Inafis Team found a number of evidences, such as sheets that the victim allegedly used to tie his neck and cellphone belonging to the victim.

"We first evacuated to the Berkah Hospital for post-mortem. The evidence we found included sheets that were allegedly used to hang themselves, the victim's cellphone, and a knife whose function was not yet known. There were also bruises on the victim's left leg and calf, but the exact cause is not yet known," he said.

A relative of the victim, Mega Silvia, revealed that the day before being found dead, the victim had poured out her heart about her lover. The victim felt depressed because her lover broke her promise. According to Mega, the victim previously also admitted that he intended to commit suicide by slashing his hand.

"Last met last night, he stayed at home. He told me about his girlfriend who was in the same class, he said his girlfriend was a mess. His girlfriend had sex with my friend and decided. My friend got rough treatment from his girlfriend," Mega said.

Mega said that while the victim was staying at her house, the victim and her boyfriend had an argument by telephone. The commotion continued until his girlfriend came to Mega's house and insulted the victim as a cheap woman because the victim asked his girlfriend to take responsibility after having sex with her.

"When he was staying, they had a fight via cellphone. Then his girlfriend came and insulted him with harsh words. He had given his body because his girlfriend asked him to," he said.

The victim's body was then taken to the Pandeglang Blessing Regional General Hospital for further investigation.

Seeing the increasing mental health crisis and the high number of suicide cases committed by forensic clinical psychology youth, Kasandra Putranto said there were several triggers for someone to do this.

"Factors that can influence people to commit suicide are high levels of depression, low emotional intelligence of personality type and lack of social support," he said some time ago.

Kasandra suggested directing the person to seek further help from professionals. Psychological support or psychiatrist can help individuals overcome their problems.
