The Mining Business Permit In North Maluku Was Traced By The KPK

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the granting of mining business permits in North Maluku (Malut). This effort was carried out by examining three witnesses, including the inactive Director of Downstream Minerba BKPM who is also the former Head of the North Maluku Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources Office, Hasyim Daeng Barang (HS).

"The KPK has scheduled an examination of witnesses suspected of corruption and money laundering (TPPU) with the suspect AGK (on Friday, August 2, ed)," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Monday, August 5.

Apart from Hasyim Daeng Barang, the anti-corruption commission also examined two other witnesses. They are the son of Abdul Gani Kasuba, Muhammad Tariq Kasuba (MTK) who is also a Commissioner of PT Fajar Gemilang and an entrepreneur named Nio Yanthony (NY).

"The investigator confirmation (witnesses, ed) is all present," said Tessa.

Tessa menyebut ada sejumlah hal yang ditelusuri penyidik. Secara umum terkait gratifikasi dan tindak pidana pencucian uang AGK serta perizinan usaha di Maluku Utara, ungkapnya.

As for Hasyim Daeng Barang, this is not the only time the anti-corruption commission has been summoned. He was once questioned in the case that ensnared Abdul Gani Kasuba on January 24 and was summoned again on March 1.

After being summoned several times, he was later disabled from his position by the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia.

Previously reported, the KPK named the inactive North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba as a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU). He is suspected of washing up to Rp100 billion.

The determination of this suspect was carried out as the development of the alleged bribery of goods and services procurement projects as well as the granting of permits within the North Maluku Provincial Government. He has been detained along with five other suspects since December 20 after being caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT).

In addition, the KPK named Abdul Gani Kasuba's confidant, Muhaimin Syarif, who is the former chairman of the North Maluku Gerindra Party DPD as a suspect. He is suspected of bribing former North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba in the amount of IDR 7 billion for the management of the Production Operation IUP to the proposed determination of the mining business permit (WIUP) area to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Then this gift is also related to projects within the North Maluku Provincial Government. The bribe was given by Muhaimin Syarif directly to Abdul Gani or through aides and through banking transactions.
