Arsenal Opens Opportunities To Get Ex-Juventus Freely

JAKARTA - Arsenal have the opportunity to attract former Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot. However, Arsenal will compete with Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid for free.

Again, the player who was released by the club after his contract was completed. This time Juventus released Rabiot, who had finished his contract.

However, Rabiot is not a cans midfielder. Evidently, this French national team player was once Manchester United's target to be brought to England. But Juve was never willing to let him go. Rabiot himself, at that time, did not want to leave the Bianconeri.

Now the situation is different. Italian Serie A club ended Rabiot's contract after five years of wearing his services. Through social media, the player also bid farewell to the club and La Vecchia calma's tifosi.

"After five seasons at Juventus, five years in Turin, I would like to say goodbye and thank you," Rabiot wrote.

"To all who made me there. Club and all staff. And, you, a fan who is always very close and gives support," he said.

Rabiot doesn't seem to want to stay in Italy either. He plans to play in Spain or England rather than face his former club in Serie A.

Moreover, he had previously tasted competition in his own country, Ligue 1 France, by strengthening Paris Saint-Germain.

The problem is, MU is no longer interested in Rabiot. In addition, he is 29 years old so Rabiot is not on the Red Devils shopping list who only recruits players under 25.

But that doesn't mean Rabiot is empty of interest. Arsenal is interested in bringing in a defensive midfielder whose full name is Adrien Thibault Marie Rabiot.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, quoted by Metro, Arsenal competed with the Madrid duo. Yes, Real Madrid and Atletico are interested in signing Rabiot. Even though Madrid have closed the player transfer window, the club remains open when they receive players for free.

Meanwhile, Veronique, the mother who also acts as Rabiot agent, confirmed that her party had already held talks with a number of clubs.

"I have indeed spoken with a number of clubs. And, I myself made contact. But there is a media that wrote that I made contact with a club that I actually never talked to them," said Veronique.

Despite targeting Rabiot, Arsenal has actually got a new midfielder. This North London club has agreed with Real Sociedad to transfer Mike Merino. Arsenal brought in this Spanish national team midfielder for 30 million euros.

Merino is actually also targeted by Barcelona. But this 28-year-old player has agreed to join the Gunners. He has also met with manager Mikel Arteta regarding his move to Arsenal.
