France Strengthens Security For Jewish Communities Amid Middle East Heating

JAKARTA - French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin called on police to strengthen security for the Jewish community amid rising tensions in the Middle East and Hamas' remarks about retaliation through the 'Day of Anger'.

In the memo, Darmanin said there was a real risk if someone took action, especially given the presence of a number of Israeli nationals in France during the Paris Olympics.

Hamas called for an "day of anger" to coincide with the funeral of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on Friday, July 31.
