IBL 2024 Final: Satria Muda Holds Victory In First Game

JAKARTA - The 2024 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) final presents the classic duel of Satria Muda vs Pelita Jaya Jakarta.

The first game was played at the home of Satria Muda (SM), Britama Arena, on Thursday, August 1, 2024. The hosts managed to take advantage of the advantage of playing in front of their own supporters by winning 84-71.

Since the beginning of the quarter, a fierce battle immediately occurred. Reynaldo Zamora and Justin Brownlee replied three-point twice which brought a tight score of 7-6 for SM's advantage.

However, Pelita Jaya's three-point shot (PJ) was unstoppable after that. Anthony Beane and Brownlee kept the visitors away 18-11 when the remaining time was under three minutes.

SM finally successfully closed the second quarter with a half-ball advantage, 39-38, after Andhakara Prastawa's shot in the last second failed.

PJ had turned ahead when the game had only been running for about four minutes. Beane managed to use the SM turnover to bring PJ to lead 48-47.

Under two minutes, SM's momentum returns with a 56-53 advantage. The situation continued until one minute remaining.

Pustovyi appeared as an important player with a contribution of plus defensive rebounds which led to a counterattack. SM locked the third quarter with a score of 62-57.

The final quarter, SM kept a distance of 10 points, 69-59, when the game had only been running for three minutes. Then, under five minutes, Cook's dug and wither Ali Bagir took SM away 14 points, 76-62.

Three-point Arki plus Zamor then made SM more comfortable with a far advantage of 81-64 with three minutes remaining. SM points were then closed three-point Abraham Grahita.

PJ failed to catch up with the remaining time. They only managed to add seven points.

SM is one step away from winning the IBL 2024. They just need to beat PJ when they travel to the Indoor Stadium SC on Friday, August 2, 2024.
