Vice President Ma'ruf Asks Police To Dismantle 'T' Initials Allegedly Mastermind Online Gambling In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin asked the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police to follow up on the figure of the initials "T" allegedly masterminding online gambling practices in Indonesia.

"It was revealed in the cabinet meeting that there were parties with the initials "T". Of course, the cabinet session did not follow up, now it has been revealed, it has been reported to Bareskrim," said the Vice President, confiscated by Antara.

The vice president delivered his statement onITEsh at Tegalluar Station, Bandung Regency, West Java (West Java), Thursday, after attending the Inauguration of the Young Civil Service Institute of Domestic Administration (IPDN) of the XXXI Force in 2024 at the IPDN Campus, Sumedang Regency, West Java (West Java).

It is known, the figure with the initials "T" was revealed by the Head of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) Benny Rhamdani. Benny has also fulfilled the call of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police for his statement.

"The term has been called, just follow up with what kind of Criminal Investigation Unit is it? Who is it? Who is it? Is it true or not?," said the Vice President.

He emphasized that the disclosure of the "T" figure is important so as not to cause polemics in the public.

"Well, so that it will be made clearer later because it is already open, everyone already knows that it has been published, it has been reported to the Criminal Investigation Unit, only Bareskrim will follow up. We hope that later there will be no more polemics of T? T is this, T is. It could be wrong, right. Maybe T is this. Maybe T. There are many T names. I think that's all," said the Vice President.

Previously, the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi requested that the names behind the online gambling practice be exposed.

"When using the initials, just mention the names," said Budi at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (July 31), responding to a figure with the initials "T" who is said to be the actor behind online gambling practices.

He admitted that he did not know about the figure with the initials "T". Budi also said that it would be better to just ask the party who first revealed the "T" figure.

"Well, just ask who made the initials, there is no 'T'," said Budi.
