The Value Of The Twitter Boss' First Tweet To Reach IDR.42 Billion

JAKARTA - Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey's first tweet was sold at a price of USD 2.9 million or approximately IDR 42 billion. A fantastic price for a sale of a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) asset.

Reporting from CNBC International, Tuesday, March 23, NFT is a unique cryptocurrency token used to represent digital assets, including jpeg and video clips. NFTs are tradable, like physical assets that have validity on the blockchain.

The buyer of the world's first tweet is Sina Estavi, the CEO of the company Bridge Oracle. He offered Jack Dorsey's first tweet with a value of 1.630.58 ethereum, which is equivalent to USD 2.9 million or around IDR 42 billion.

"This isn't just a tweet!" Estavi posts on Twitter. "I think years later people will realize the true value of these tweets, like the Mona Lisa painting".

Even though it has been sold at a fantastic price, the Twitter boss' first tweet can still be seen and tweeted by anyone. Estavi only buys a digital certificate that proves that he has the tweet from the auction platform Valuables by Cent.

From the proceeds from the sale, Jack Dorsey will convert the buyer's currency into bitcoin and donate it to GiveDirectly, a charity that gives money directly to people living in poverty.

Elon Musk Sells NFT

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk also sold off one of his personal tweets on NFT assets. Elon Musk's asset is a techno song about NFT. He also wrote, "I sell this song about NFT as NFT".

Tweet belonging to the 49-year-old man was offered a fantastic price, which amounted to USD 1.12 million or approximately IDR 16.1 billion. But unfortunately, Musk changed his mind and canceled the sale.
