Jokowi Calls Connectivity The Key To Attracting Investors To Enter Indonesia
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) highlighted the importance of connectivity from infrastructure built in Indonesia. He said that the existence of connectivity support infrastructure is the key to attracting investors to disburse their funds to Indonesia.
"Once connectivity is not good, once infrastructure is not good, who are investors who want to enter Indonesia? There will be no. Because infrastructure is the key to the arrival of investment," Jokowi said in a Reflection and Note of 10 Years of Jokowi's Order in the Fields of Construction, Infrastructure, and Investment, in Jakarta, Wednesday, July 31.
Sekain itu, Jokowi bilang infrastruktur juga menjadi kunci penting dalam menekan biaya logistik di Indonesia. Saat ini, sambung Jokowi, biaya logistik di Indonesia sebesar 14 persen dari sebelumnya di angka 24 persen.
"But it will also reduce logistics costs, which used to cost our logistics approximately 24 percent, now it has dropped to 14 percent so that prices can be reduced lower and that can be seen from the inflation rate," he explained.
The former governor of DKI Jakarta also said that connectivity support infrastructure could also suppress inflation. He said Indonesia's inflation rate was previously around 8-11 percent. However, lately it can be maintained below 3 percent.
"In the past, the number of ktia 8, 9 or even 11 percent inflation could now be reduced to below 3 percent, and finally last month it was at 2.58 percent," said Jokowi.

Jokowi also said that infrastructure development has a role in increasing Indonesia's competitiveness ranking. According to him, infrastructure is not limited to being built as soon as it becomes but must provide benefits.
"I just want to leave it to Gapensi that building infrastructure is not just building the concrete. Not only building the origin of the finished but there are no benefits," said Jokowi.
