England Urges Its Citizens To Leave Lebanon Soon

JAKARTA - Britain urges its citizens in Lebanon to leave the country. Britain warns tensions along Israel's borders could worsen rapidly.

"There are frequent artillery exchanges and airstrikes, high tensions, and the situation can get worse quickly," Foreign Minister David Lemmy told parliament.

"I'm working with the foreign office consular team to ensure we're ready to face all scenarios, but if this conflict increases, the government can't guarantee we'll be able to evacuate everyone soon. People may be forced to take shelter on the spot," he added.

Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer chaired a meeting of the government's emergency response committee, known as COBRA, on the matter on Tuesday.

"My message to British nationals in Lebanon is quite simple: go away," said Lemmy.
