Indonesian Fishery Products Received 118 Export Destinations To Semester I 2024

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) through the Marine and Fisheries Product Quality Control and Supervision Agency (BPPMHKP) said that Indonesian fishery products until the first semester of 2024 could be accepted in 118 countries from 195 United Nations member countries (UN).

Head of BPPMHKP Ishartini said this figure increased when compared to the same period the previous year, which was only 102 countries.

"If we look at it until the first semester of 2024, the acceptance of fishery products in export destination countries has reached 118 countries. We also do this in collaboration with various export destination countries," said Ishartini in a press conference related to the performance of KKP Semester I-2024 in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 30.

Ishartini said that his party had been recognized by various export destination countries as competent authorities for guarantor of fishery quality and fishery products of the Republic of Indonesia.

"For example with the United States (US). There is a recognition from the US Government (USFDA) that BPPMHKP is the competent authority to ensure the quality and safety of marine and fishery products in Indonesia," he said.

Then, there is the same confession from Korea, Norway, Japan, and Russia.

He added that there are 20 of the top countries that are the main export destinations for Indonesian fishery products.

The 20 countries include Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Taiwan.

Next, Japan, South Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands. Furthermore, there are Spain, France, England, Puerto Rico, the United States and Canada.
