TNI AD Thwarts The Smuggling Of 6.3 Kilograms Of Drugs At The Bengkayang Border, West Kalimantan
The Indonesian Army on duty at the RI-Malaysia border thwarted an attempt to smuggle 6.3 kilograms of methamphetamine in Jagoi Babang, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan.
"This success was achieved through close cooperation between the Indonesian Army and the community in the Anti-Drug Embrio Radar program," Head of Korem 121/ABW, Colonel Inf Johnson M Sitorus in Sungai Raya reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 30.
He stated that the initial information regarding suspicious activities came from the community in collaboration with the Indonesian Army as part of the active fence of the Smuggling Fort in the Jagoi Babang area.
"We received information from the public that the Indonesian Army had installed as an active fence for the Smuggling Fort in the Jagoi Babang area," he said.
Receiving the report, Danrem 121/ABW as well as Dankolakops, Brigadier General Luqman Arief, immediately instructed the Yonkav 12/Beruang Cakti Task Force to form a reconnaissance and ambush team at the target location.
On Friday (26/7) at around 01.00 WIB in the morning, the Sergap Team observed the movement of two people using motorbikes passing through the road being monitored.
The team immediately chased the suspicious movement, but the two men fled and threw the items to the edge of the road which was full of shrubs and trees.
After conducting sweeping around the area, the Sergap Team found six packages which after being examined turned out to contain methamphetamine weighing a total of 6.3 kilograms.

Not long after, the two suspected smugglers returned to the scene to retrieve the discarded package.
The Sergap team, who were already prepared, immediately arrested the two men and secured them at the nearest Pamtas Post.
From the results of the development, another person suspected of being part of the smuggling network was arrested.
