Launching The M-STOCK Application, Mirae Asset Encourages An Increase In The Number Of Capital Market Investors

JAKARTA - PT Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia targets to increase the number of active investors in the capital market by supporting the launch of a mobile stock transaction application called M-STOCK which can make it easier for users to invest and transact in the stock market.

Mirae Asset Director Tomi Taufan said the launch of the application is expected to increase investment literacy in the capital market and public income.

In addition, Tomi conveyed that the percentage of active Mirae Asset investors is more than 35 percent, which is far above the industry average of around 20 percent of total stock investors and 9 percent of the total number of capital market investors (shares, bonds, and mutual funds).

"We hope that the M-STOCK application can complement the features in our previous application, namely HOTS so that customers can more easily transact while increasing the number of active investors in the stock market and capital market," said Tomi in a press statement, Monday, July 29.

Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange, it shows that as of May 2024 the number of active stock investors reached 1,142 people, the total number of stock investors was 5,720 people, and the number of capital market investors was 12,936 people.

For information as of the end of 2023, the number of Mirae Asset customers reaches around 300,000 people, including around 30,000 mutual fund investors related to the company's license as a Mutual Fund Effect Seller Agent (APERD).

Tomi said the launch of the M-STOCK mobile application marked a new era in stock transactions because of its easier use (user friendly) so that it could reach and increase the number of investors and stock traders.

In addition to increasing the number of investors and stock traders, Tomi said M-STOCK also makes it easier to transact shares, especially for new investors (newbie) so that it is expected to increase the number of active stock investors in the capital market.

According to Tomi, M-STOCK is also supported by Information Technology (IT) which is Mirae Asset's advantage, especially in terms of feature completeness views, as well as recommendations for credible and complete transactions.

"With these conveniences, investors can be more comfortable and dare to make decisions to invest and transact shares," he explained

In addition, Tomi hopes that M-STICC can become a positive IT disruption because it supports our goal of democratizing investment and expanding financial literacy.

"Thus, we can also protect the public from achieving their investment achievements and objectives because currently they are still vulnerable to being trapped on the negative side of IT disruption, especially misuse of online gambling and online loans," he said.
