Dini Sera's Family Reports 3 Judges Free Sentence Ronald Tannur To The Supreme Court

JAKARTA - Sera Arfianti's family, a murder victim in Surabaya, East Java (East Java), will report the panel of judges at the Surabaya District Court who acquitted the defendant Gregorius Ronald Tannur to the Supreme Court (MA) Supervisory Body (Bawas).

The attorney for the Dini Sera family, Dimas Yemahura, said the report was submitted no later than Wednesday, July 31, because his party was still waiting for a copy of the decision from the Surabaya District Court.

"This Judicial Commission only provides recommendations, so then I will also report the judge to the Supreme Court Supervisory Agency," said Dimas after submitting a report related to the same case to KY at the KY RI Office, Jakarta, Monday, July 29, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said his party would compare the results of the follow-up report by KY and the MA Bawas. The Dini Sera family hopes to get justice and the panel of judges who are reported to have been given the harshest sanctions.

"So that justice in the Republic of Indonesia, judges in the Republic of Indonesia are more careful and justice in Indonesia for small people like this can be realized," said Dimas.

Dimas emphasized that the report was urgent because he received information that Ronald Tannur planned to go abroad after being acquitted.

"We know the impact of this decision, these weak people are still fighting for their justice, while the suspect released has intended to go abroad. He may be able to vacation at Disneyland or anywhere else, but this small person is still going back and forth in Jakarta-Surabaya to fight for justice," he said.

Today, Monday, July 29, Dini Sera's family and their attorneys reported the panel of judges at the Surabaya District Court that released Ronald Tannur to the KY Office, Jakarta. Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PDI-P faction, Rieke Diah Pitaloka, who is part of the #JusticeForDiniSera alliance, also accompanied the families of the victims.

The victim believed there was a contradiction between the indictment and the demands and the results of the panel of judges' considerations in the decision. Therefore, the victim's family wanted KY to examine alleged violations of the KEPPH and impose a recommendation for dismissal of the three judges who decided the case.

"We ask that KY can provide the best recommendation, namely our hope is to stop the judge who examined this case at the Surabaya District Court. That is our hope," said Dimas.

The panel of judges at the Surabaya District Court, Wednesday, July 24, acquitted Gregorius Ronald Tannur of the murder charges of Dini Sera Afrianti. Chief Judge Erintuah Damanik stated that the defendant was not legally and convincingly proven guilty of murder or maltreatment that resulted in the death of the victim.

The verdict of the panel of judges is different from the prosecutor's demands. In that case, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) charged Gregorius Ronald Tannur with a 12-year prison sentence for being found guilty of murder.
