KY Processes Report Of The Surabaya District Court Judges' Free Verdict Ronald Tannur The Killer Of His Girlfriend
The Judicial Commission (KY) stated that it had received and would follow up on reports of alleged violations of the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct of Judges (KEPPH) of the Surabaya District Court (PN) who acquitted the defendant Gregorius Ronald Tannur in the murder case of his girlfriend, Dini Sera Afrianti.
The report was filed by Dini Sera's family, namely her father and sister who were accompanied by Dimas Yemahaburah's attorney.
The report was received by the Deputy Chairperson of KY and the Head of the KY Bureau of Investigation. The report will be followed up in accordance with the provisions in KY Regulation Number 2 of 2015 concerning the handling of public reports," said KY Member and Spokesperson Mukti Fajar Nur Dewata in a video statement, Monday, July 29, quoted by Antara.
Mukti explained that every public report that enters KY will go through the administrative process first. After that, KY analyzed the reports from the results of the investigation, documents and existing witnesses to be brought into the panel.
"In the panel, it will be decided whether the case is followed up or not. If it is followed up, an examination of the complainant, of the witnesses, and finally of the panel of judges will be carried out," he said.
In addition, he said, the KY investigation team had also moved to collect data related to the case. However, the data that has been collected by KY cannot be submitted openly to the public because it is closed.
On the other hand, he said that a copy of Ronald Tannur's verdict had not been received by KY in its entirety. "So, KY has not been able to explore and study the decision, which is usually an indication for possible KEPPH violations," he said.

Today, Monday, July 29, Dini Sera's family and their attorneys reported the panel of judges at the Surabaya District Court that released Ronald Tannur to the KY Office, Jakarta. Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PDI-P faction, Rieke Diah Pitaloka, who is part of the #JusticeForDiniSera alliance, also accompanied the families of the victims.
The victim believed there was a contradiction between the indictment and the demands and the results of the panel of judges' considerations in the decision. Therefore, the victim's family wanted KY to examine alleged violations of the KEPPH and impose a recommendation for dismissal of the three judges who decided the case.
"We ask that KY can provide the best recommendations, namely our hope is to stop the judge who examined this case at the Surabaya District Court. That is our hope," said Dimas Yemahaburu.
Previously, Wednesday, July 24, 2024, the panel of judges at the Surabaya District Court acquitted Gregorius Ronald Tannur of the murder charges of Dini Sera Afrianti. Chief Judge Erintuah Damanik stated that the defendant was not legally and convincingly proven to have committed the murder or persecution that caused the death of the victim.
The verdict of the panel of judges is different from the prosecutor's demands. In that case, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) charged Gregorius Ronald Tannur with a 12-year prison sentence for being found guilty of murder.
It is known, Dini Sera Afrianti (29), died after karaoke with her date, Gregorius Ronald Tannur, at a nightclub on Jalan Mayjen Jonosewojo, Lakarsantri, Surabaya on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 night.
