It's Been Auctioned, Two Oil And Gas WKs In Papua Are Low In Enthusiasm

JAKARTA - The government is known to have auctioned off two working areas (WK) in the Warim oil and gas block, namely Akimegah 1 and Akimegah 2. However, until now the two oil and gas blocks that intersect with the Lorentz National Park have not yet found interest.

"We have already auctioned. But none of this (intrigued)," said Plt. Director General of Oil and Gas (Dirjen Migas) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana quoted on Saturday, July 27.

To overcome this, Dadan said that he had asked the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to map out a number of potentials contained in these two oil and gas WKs.

"We are currently opening the Geological Agency. We will try to improve the quality of the data for Warim," continued Dadan.

Not only that, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources also continues to study the possibility that caused Akimegah I and Akimegah II to not get interested

"We are still studying why the auction didn't sell for Akimegah 1-2, right. If we don't sell, the item must be studied. What makes it unattractive for those who are going to bid? We are still studying there what aspects of security or latah are incomplete so they don't have an idea," concluded Dadan.
