PP Muhammadiyah Holds National Consolidation To Discuss Mining Concession
JAKARTA - The Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PP) held a national consolidation at the 'Aisyiyah University (Unisa) campus in Yogyakarta, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, Saturday, to discuss a number of strategic programs, including those related to mining concessions.
"Including (discussing the mining concession), the background will be explained. Tomorrow (Sunday) it will be explained very comprehensively," said Head of the PP Muhammadiyah Office Arif Nur Kholis at the Unisa Campus in Yogyakarta, Sleman, DIY, quoted from Antara, Saturday 27 July.
The national consolidation, which will last for two days, said Arif, invited 35 Muhammadiyah Regional Leaders (PWM) and took place behind closed doors.
"It's closed. If the session is closed, I'm sorry if you can't follow, but a press conference will be held tomorrow," Arif told the media crew.
According to him, national consolidation is the annual routine agenda of PP Muhammadiyah as a forum for deliberation or communication with all leaders of the organization's territory.
In addition to the offer of concessions or mining permits from the government, according to him, many other strategic programs were also discussed, including the issue of the Hijri Calendar Global Tunggal.
However, Arif explained that PP Muhammadiyah actually already has a number of specific teams discussing various strategic programs in detail.
"When it comes to the calendar, it means the Tarjih Council, if there is an Economic Assembly about banking, there is a Finance Bureau. If it is like mines and so on, there are teams formed by PP Muhammadiyah, the names will be mentioned tomorrow," he said.
Arif was reluctant to mention further about the discussion of the mining concession which is now in the public spotlight.

However, according to him, national consolidation is at least the right means to convey various developing issues while hearing the aspirations directly from regional leaders throughout Indonesia.
"It's simple, 'I know the regional leadership from the media, not from the direct leadership. That means I have to know immediately. The points are there," said Arif.
Some time ago, news circulated that the Muhammadiyah Central Executive decided to receive a mining business permit (IUP) disclosed by PP Muhammadiyah Chairman Anwar Abbas.
