Cak Imin: PKB Is Not For NU Pribadi, But For The Indonesian Nation

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, emphasized that his party was not established for the benefit of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) personally, but for the entire Indonesian nation.

This was conveyed by Cak Imin when providing briefing to all members of the PKB legislature from Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau Islands, and Riau in the Regional 4 Leadership School which was held in Berastagi, Karo, North Sumatra, yesterday. Initially, Cak Imin admitted that he was proud because his cadres were elected as members of the DPR and DPRD RI. According to him, he was proud to be present because the shoulders of all PKB leaders contained the mandate of the PKB struggle and the aspirations of voters.

"Why am I proud of? Because you are the elected people, who are trusted by the people, trusted by PKB for the next five years have a historical mandate, a people's mandate and a mandate to manage the legislature," said Cak Imin in his statement received, Friday, July 26, evening.

However, the deputy chairman of the DPR reminded that after being elected as members of the legislature, they not only assumed the voter's mandate, but the mandate of all Indonesian people.

"Why are we present, live and grow successful but only to make history on our own. Maybe noble, maybe going to heaven, but not getting the highest heaven. Because that was the intention of becoming a DPR because of unemployment, because we want it, let's raise our intention to fight for the mandate of the Indonesian nation," said Cak Imin.

Cak Imin then stated that from the beginning the PKB was established, prepared and made from NU for education for the people and the Indonesian people. "So it's not for NU personally, but for the entire Indonesian nation, but for flying red and white for the glory of Indonesia," he said.

Cak Imin also pays attention to members of the non-Muslim legislature who take part in the Sespim Amendment. He considered, this proves that PKB is for all Indonesian people.

"Therefore, let us intend every fatigue that we devote, every time we will spend it all really for the benefit of the Indonesian people. With sincere intentions because we are red and white, we do not fly because we are praised, we do not fall because they are insulted," he said.

Cak Imin added that the future of PKB throughout Indonesia depends on the elected PKB leaders. "Everything we are the same and united, from Aceh to Papua. A PKB leader in Aceh is united with a leader in Papua," concluded Cak Imin.
