Confidence Is The Key To Persis Solo To The Semifinals Of The 2024 President's Cup

JAKARTA - Persis Solo was extraordinaryly able to present a surprise in the last match of Group A of the 2024 Presidential Cup. Playing at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, Thursday, July 25, 2024, Laskar Samber Life was able to beat Persib Bandung with a score of 1-0.

Persis' single goal was scored with a hard left foot kick from outside the penalty box which was released by Ramadhan Sananta in the 20th minute. Teja Paku Alam was unable to stem the Indonesian national team striker's hard kick.

For Ramadhan Sananta, this goal became his third goal in the 2024 Presidential Cup. This record also led Sananta to lead the list of the top goalscorers.

An additional three points made Persis collect four points and is in second place in the final standings of Group A. This means that Laskar Samber's life is entitled to a ticket to the semifinals to accompany the winner of Group A, Borneo FC, who has seven points.

Persis' certainty of winning a semifinal ticket is an extraordinary momentum for them. The problem is that the last four matches and the final will be held at their home, Manahan Stadium, Solo.

Milomir Seslija as Persis coach revealed the key to his troops' success in achieving this slick moment.

"Kunci di laga kali ini adalah attitude yang menghasilkan kepercayaan diri pemain, kami mencatat clean-sheet."

"There was a bit of a problem in the first half against Persib, but then we were able to solve it," said Milomir Seslija.

Winning the match against League 1 champions 2023/2024 is a good record Persis considering they are doubtful about qualifying for the semifinals.

Laskar Samber Nyama only won one point from the first two matches when they lost to Borneo FC (0-2) and the series against PSM Makassar (2-2).

However, Persis' appearance did improve. Had struggled in the first match due to an unclear and confused game scheme, they were then more solid in the second match.

In fact, Persis had a 2-0 lead before finally being equalized 2-2. At that time, the attack had improved, only the defense side was fragile.

The peak occurred in the last match of Group A. Just corrected the mistakes in the previous two matches. They are getting stronger on the side of attack and defense.

"We actually have a lot of chances compared to Persib. This is only 65 percent of our team because there are many new players who come."

"What is certain is that this semifinal success is for Persis supporters," said the coach who is familiarly called Milo.

"After this we will rest first and then prepare ourselves better. We will wait for our opponents in the semifinals and see what happens later," said the coach again.
