Hot Waves In Morocco Telan 21 Victims

JAKARTA - Morocco's Ministry of Health recorded 21 deaths from heat waves. A total of 17 of them died and have received treatment at the hospital.

Quoting Anadolu via Antara, based on data from Beni Mellal Regional Central Hospital, the majority of victims who died were elderly and patients who had a history of chronic illness.

A significant increase in temperature reportedly worsened their health condition, which eventually led to death.

Earlier that day, Morocco's Ministry of Health notified plans to implement "compressive measures to reduce the impact of high heat waves on public health."

On Sunday 21 July, the Morocco Meteorological Directorate issued a warning to residents, predicting temperatures that could reach 46 C in some areas on Wednesday.

The directorate appealed to residents to be careful during this extreme heat period.

Morocco, the country of North Africa of the Mediterranean climate, has been grappling with an increasingly high summer temperature in recent years.

This increase in temperature also led to an increase in forest fires, thus providing additional challenges for the country.
