Nawawi Pomolango Reminds Pansel Not To Pass KPK's Capim Deposits Any Parties
JAKARTA - The interim chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nawawi Pomolango reminded the Selection Committee (Pansel) for Candidates for Leadership and Supervisory Board of the KPK not to pass participants entrusted from certain parties. Guarantees must be given to the public."“Pansel must really guarantee to the public that the selection committee's work is not carried out by prospective deposits from any party," Nawawi told reporters in a written statement, Thursday, July 25.Nawawi also admitted that he had observed the names that passed. He said, some do have a track record but this is not enough actually." “ But being a leader in this institution is not enough just to have integrity and competence, but more than that has the guts to respond to interventions from various interests which ultimately have an impact on institutional independence," he explained.Previously reported, 236 registrants were declared to have passed the administrative selection of candidates for leadership (capim) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Of these, eight of them are internal parties of institutions such as Deputy Chairpersons of the KPK Johanis Tanak and Nurul Ghufron to Deputy Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK Pahala Nainggolan."“It was confirmed that there were eight KPK personnel who passed the administrative selection as candidates for KPK leadership," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 24.
