Heru Budi Opens Opportunities To Accommodate All Honorary Teachers In Jakarta To Become KKI This Year

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono opens the opportunity to accommodate all honorary teachers in Jakarta so that they can be recruited as Individual Work Contracters (KKI) of the DKI Jakarta Education Office this year.

Initially, the DKI Provincial Government only intended to open 1,700 formations of KKI personnel in 2024. Meanwhile, honorary teachers in Jakarta reached around 4,000 people. This had drawn protests from the DPRD.

"Earlier, colleagues from the DPRD said. I also agree (the appointment of honorary teachers to become KKI) 4,000. If the DPRD with the DKI Provincial Government has agreed, it is better that way. But, later we will see the process," said Heru at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Thursday, July 25.

On that basis, Heru will order the DKI Jakarta Education Office to design a budget allocation so that all honorary teachers in Jakarta can be paid through the APBD as KKI personnel this year.

"Yesterday, we saw that the budget was 1,700. The proposal (to recruit 4,000 honorary teachers directly) today, I also think that way. However, the mechanism for financial stages problems must be passed," said Heru.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will open formations for Individual Work Contract (KKI) for thousands of honorary teachers as a solution to clarify their status.

Now there are 4,000 honorary teachers who teach in Jakarta. However, the quota for KKI personnel planned to be opened this year is only 1,700 people.

This surprised the DKI Jakarta DPRD. Secretary of Commission E of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Jhonny Simanjuntak, questioned why the DKI Provincial Government did not appoint all honorary teachers at once.

"The education office said that for this year, 1,700 KKI teachers will be appointed. Why so much responsibility? Only 4,000 were immediately appointed as KKI teachers. Where is the justice?" said Jhonny.

Jakarta has a 2024 APBD of IDR 81.71 trillion. The nominal value of this budget, Jhonny assessed that the DKI Provincial Government still has enough to pay 4,000 honorary teachers to become KKI.

"He said it's really sad, our teachers. Jakarta can do it if we really want to (recruit 4,000 honorary teachers directly). This is a matter of political will, about the political will of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government," said Jhonny.
