Police Start Investigating The @projecthunterA Account That Alludes To Ustaz Uje's Death

JAKARTA - Abidzar Al-Ghifari reported the account X @projecthunterA on suspicion of defamation to the Polda Metro Jaya. The police stated that the report was being investigated.

"This was just received yesterday's report and an investigation is still being carried out by investigators," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, Thursday, July 25.

In the report, the @projecthunterA account is said to have uploaded a post that alluded to the death of his father, Ustaz Jefri Al Buchori or Uje, on July 21.

As a result of the upload from the X account, Abidzar Al-Ghifari's younger brother experienced mental disorders.

"The account, which according to the victim, offended the family with an inappropriate context by bringing the name of the victim's biological father, so that the incident that the victim experienced finally reported on suspicion of defamation," said Ade.

The Abidzar Al-Ghifari report is registered with the number LP/B/4214/VII/2024/SPKT POLDA METRO JAYA dated July 24, 2024.

The X account is known to have apologized publicly before Ustaz Jefri Al Buchori's son made a police report.

However, Abidzar still wants the user of the @projecthunterA account to meet him directly because he feels that apologies via social media are unethical.

"Actually, it's not that I'm not satisfied, I think an apology from social media is just unethical. He can already talk to people but doesn't apologize directly, it's unethical," explained Abidzar.

Therefore, Abidzar is now waiting for good faith from the perpetrator after visiting the police. "We are waiting for the good faith," he said.
