Rinov/Pitha Ready To Face First Challenge At The 2024 Olympics

JAKARTA The mixed doubles pair Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari are very ready for the first challenge at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

This is the first Olympics for the world number 13 pair. They went there along with seven other names from badminton.

"Alhamdulillah, good, healthy, and no injuries. God willing, we are ready for the first match," Pitha said in an official statement received.

Rinov/Pitha will start their journey in the preliminary round of Group A. This is a very tough group for them.

The opponents they will face in that round, one of which is the first seed from China, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong. In the previous two competitive meetings, Rinov/Pitha were recorded as always losing.

In addition, there is also the world number eight mixed doubles in South Korea, Kim Won-ho/Jeong Na-eun. This pair will be Rinov/Pitha's first opponent on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

The other mixed doubles that will be against Rinov/Pitha are the host pair France, Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue.

"Everything went smoothly, the preparation was quite good. Just waiting for the match," said Rinov.

Rinov/Pitha and friends are currently in the Athlete Village or Athletes Village. They entered there on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, evening local time after nine days of training camp in Chambly.

They will have the opportunity to meet top athletes from other countries in the Athlete Village.

"In the Athlete Village, we will meet many athletes from all over the sport. Being able to interact with them will be fun, whoever it is. I can't wait to get in there," said Rinov.
