Lawyers Are Surprised Kusnadi Hasto Kristiyanto's Staff Are Prevented From Going Abroad

JAKARTA - Kusnadi's lawyer, Petrus Selestinus, was surprised by the steps taken by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to ask the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to prevent his client from leaving the country regarding the bribery case of Harun Masiku. He said that the staff of the PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto would not escape anywhere.

"Like the KPK doesn't know how and where Kusnadi is doing his daily activities. This means that the spirit of the KPK has banned the benefits of not balancing, considering that Kusnadi will not travel abroad," said Petrus to reporters quoted on Wednesday, July 24.

Instead of traveling abroad, Petrus said his client was actually ready to help the anti-corruption commission find Harun, who is still at large today. "Kusnadi knows that there is a big responsibility that the KPK needs from him, namely to be a witness for Harun Masiku," he said.

"Because of that, it is unfortunate that the choice of attitude of the KPK against Kusnadi with the benefits of deviation does not seem to be found," continued the lawyer.

Petrus also said Kusnadi was ready if investigators called him to investigate the Harun bribery case. As long as the summons is carried out in accordance with the applicable legal corridor.

"Kusnadi is always waiting for when he will be summoned, Kusnadi will not leave the country and Kusnadi will always be cooperative as long as the KPK also remains on track in his duties," said Petrus.

Previously reported, the KPK decided to ask the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to prevent five people from leaving the country regarding the alleged bribery that ensnared former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku. Based on information, his name is Kusnadi who is the staff of the Secretary General of the PDIP Perjuangan (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto; lawyer Simeon Petrus, Yanuar Prawira Wasesa, and Donny Tri Istiqomah; and Dona Berisa who is the private party or wife of Saeful Bahri, former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.

This prevention is carried out for six months but can be extended as needed. The KPK reasoned that prevention needed to be carried out so that these five people remained in the country when they were asked for information.
