President Director Of PLN Icon Plus Says Internet Readiness At IKN Is 90 Percent

JAKARTA - President Director of PT PLN Icon Plus Ari Rahmat Indra Cahyadi said, the readiness of the optical fiber network has reached 90 percent to make the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia a success in the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago, East Kalimantan.

"As for the fiber optic network at IKN, 90 percent is currently at this time," said Ari, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 22.

Ari said, PLN Icon Plus is basically ready to supply the internet.

However, this must also be adjusted to the tunnel infrastructure which is also built by other infrastructure.

He believes that the internet connection during the celebration of the 79th Anniversary at IKN can run smoothly.

"Fiber optically, we are ready, so we can be optimistic that the fiber optic connection from the PLN Group issued for IKN in the success of the August 17 event is ready," said Ari.

PLN Icon Plus together with PLN carried out the groundbreaking of the telecommunications center, smart electricity, and digital PLN Hub in the capital city of Nusantara on Friday, June 7.

The development of PLN Hub is a form of commitment and readiness to support the energy transition and digitization ecosystem of IKN.

"PLN Icon Plus as a beyond kwH subholding from PT PLN (Persero) has an important role to play in supporting reliable telecommunications infrastructure in IKN to support the reliability of the latest and modern electricity system from PLN," said Ari.

The laying of the PLN Hub's first stone was attended directly by President Joko Widodo and the ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.

President Jokowi on that occasion said he really appreciated the development of the PLN Hub.

He believes that PLN Hub can gather all stakeholders and partners related to PT PLN.

The President Director of PT PLN (Persero) Darmawan Prasodjo said the same thing.

He said, PLN Hub is intended to be the epicenter of research and development as well as business, technology, and education collaboration that supports IKN and energy transition in Indonesia.

The presence of PLN Hub is expected to support the realization of the 'Smart, Green, & Beautiful' ecosystem at IKN. This effort is expected not only to support environmental sustainability, but also to encourage innovation in the telecommunications and electricity sectors in Indonesia.
