Reflecting On Surabaya, Jokowi Inaugurates The International Coconut Exhibition

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) left for Surabaya City, East Java Province, Monday, July 22 morning, in the context of a working visit to inaugurate the 51st International Coconut Conference and Exhibition (Cocotech) in 2024.

The Press, Media and Information Bureau (BPMI) of the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta informed that the Head of State and his entourage took off from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta using the Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft at around 07.00 WIB.

Arriving at Juanda International Airport, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java Province, President Jokowi went straight to Surabaya by car.

"In the city of Surabaya, President Jokowi is scheduled to open and inaugurate the 51st Cocotech in 2024," said Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of Presidential Secretariat M. Yusuf Permana.

Yusuf said the Cocotech Conference and Exhibition is an international coconut conference and exhibition that is held every two years to promote the global capital sector.

These activities aim, among others, as a means of exchanging ideas, the best practices, and policy recommendations, as well as collaborative efforts to encourage food and energy security.

"The 51st Cocotech carries the theme The Utilization of Coconut Potential as a Tree of Life and Green Energy which highlights the importance of the coconut sector as a sustainable solution," Yusuf added.

After the inauguration, President Jokowi and his entourage headed to Juanda International Airport, Sidoarjo Regency, to continue their journey to Papua Province.

President Jokowi will spend the night in Jayapura City, to continue his work visit at the peak event to commemorate National Children's Day 2024, Tuesday tomorrow.

"Tomorrow, President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana are scheduled to attend the peak of the 2024 National Children's Day commemoration which will be held at Istora Papua Bangkit," he said.

Also accompanying President Jokowi on a flight to East Java included Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Presidential Military Secretary Major General Rudy Saladin, Paspampres Commander Major General TNI Achiruddin, and Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of Presidential Secretariat M. Yusuf Permana.

President Jokowi's departure at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base was released by the Commander of the Jaya Regional Military Command Maj. Gen. Mohamad Hasan, Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Pol Karyoto, Commander of Koopsud I Marsda TNI Mohammad Nurdin, and Danlanud Halim Perdanakusuma Marsma TNI DestiNTO Nugroho Utomo.
